Ghana Assets

KOKA Energy Company Limited has applied for exploration and production rights over the GH-WB-04 Block to Ghana’s Minister for Energy. This Block was initially up for competitive licensing rounds but is now available for direct negotiations. GH-WB-04 is located in the Tano-Cape Three Points basin and forms part Deepwater Cape Three Points block relinquished by Lukoil.

Ghana’s Petroleum Sector & Activities

Ghana has been exploring for oil and gas for many years now. The status of the Country has changed from the late 19th Century in the onshore Western Region when exploration only followed oil seepages to recent times when exploration is taking place in ultra-deepwater.

The Tano Basin Geology and Prospectivity

The Tano Basin is a wrench modified Cretaceous pull-apart basin residing between the St. Paul and Romanche transform faults formed as a result of trans-tensional movement during the separation and of Africa and South America and the opening of the Atlantic Ocean in Albian time.
